Job Description:
Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for bidding, winning, and overseeing projects from inception to completion. This role requires a strong background in groundworks and civil engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bidding and Tendering: Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for groundworks and civil engineering projects.
- Project Management: Oversee projects from the bidding stage through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Cost Control: Monitor and control project costs, ensuring financial efficiency and profitability.
- Client Liaison: Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing any concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
- Contract Management: Manage contracts, including variations, claims, and final accounts.
- Site Visits: Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on project status, costs, and progress to senior management.
Qualifications and Experience:

Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying and estimating within the groundworks and civil engineering sector.

Strong analytical and numerical skills.

Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, CostX).

In-depth knowledge of construction contracts and legislation.

Certifications: Professional membership with RICS or similar is desirable.
