Immediate opportunity for an experienced Mechanic / MOT Tester. Working alternate shift patterns 0600 to 1400 or 1400 to 2200pm Monday to Friday, paying between GBP15.73 - GBP25.00 per hour dependant on experience. Based in Salford - M50 post code. On going temp role till end of August 2024.
What will you be doing as a Mechanic/ MOT Tester?
- Repairs and maintenance on a range of vehicles and associated plant equipment
- Operate all existing or projection associated garage equipment as agreed from time-to-time eg brake testing equipment, exhaust gas analysing equipment diesel smoke testing equipment and all other equipment that may be introduced in order to enhance the service provided
- To maintain and complete daily documents - job tickets, inspection sheets, including test reports
- Take care of all tools and equipment borrowed from the stores and ensure all is clean and serviceable on return to stores
- Be prepared to work on dirty vehicles and equipment, and in adverse weather conditions if necessary at different locations
- To be fully aware of the importance of Customer Care in all activities.
- Ensure that all Health and Safety at work procedures are adhered to.
- Carry out duties with regard to the City Councils policies and procedures
- To undertake any training as may be required
- Support with training to apprentices
We would LOVE to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:
- You will be an experienced mechanic or mot tester with experience in servicing and repairing large industrial vehicles
- You may have experience in working for the local authority, refuse/waste industry
