Salary: £22,239 PA

Job Type: Full – Time (37 Hours), Fixed Term Contract Until June 2025

Admissions Advice and Guidance Officer – The Role:

Our Customer Services team are looking for a new member to join to support the admission of new students! You will be a first point of contact for all new student and parent enquiries on courses and qualifications the College offers and will oversee their journey from enquiry, to interviewing them to successful course placement.

You will also have the opportunity to work outside the College at Post-16 provider events to promote the College and its courses. As an AAG Officer, you will become an expert in knowledge about New College Swindon and the courses we offer. There will be regular evening work associated with this role, which will be remunerated in time off in lieu (1 evening a week during term time only).

Admissions Advice and Guidance Officer – Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage application and enrolment enquiries from first contact to resolution across all customer groups
  • Liaise with Curriculum Managers and tutors across all college programs
  • Interview prospective students and offer advice to ensure proper course enrolment
  • Provide careers advice and guidance to students individually, in small groups, and large groups, both at college and external events
  • Attend external promotional events in schools, including parent evenings and assemblies, in coordination with the College marketing department
  • Liaise with schools and other pre-16 providers to present the College curriculum effectively
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver internal and external events to promote the College, including application events
  • Work collaboratively with Business Support departments, especially Front of House, Adult - Admissions, FMI, and Student Services
  • Maintain a flexible approach to working hours, including some weekends and evenings

Admissions Advice and Guidance Officer – You:

  • Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent) or commitment to gaining with 24 months of commencement of employment
  • NVQ Level 2 in Advice and Guidance (or commitment to gain)- Highly developed sense of customer service skills and delivery
  • The ability to work effectively with students, parent, carers and external providers building effective professional relationships
  • Basic understanding of the education system in the UK
  • Full clean driving license and own car
  • Prepared to work at both North Star and Queens Drive (or any other College campus) as required
