Position: Test Engineer - Electromechanical Systems
Location: Horsham, United Kingdom (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £40,000 + Benefits

Defense & Space manufacturer seeks engineer to test electro-optical-mechanical components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform acceptance testing on electro-optical-mechanical components, subassemblies, assemblies, and systems using standard test equipment like power supplies, multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Accurately record test results, report issues to the engineering team, and conduct fault diagnosis for production or design problems.
  • Assist in developing test procedures and factory acceptance test documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electromechanical equipment.
  • Interpret complex technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and PCB schematics.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Adhere to company procedures, policies, goals, health & safety regulations, and quality standards (ISO 9001).
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide field service support when required.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proficient in manually testing electrical and electromechanical systems.
  • Ability to write comprehensive test plans and acceptance tests for new product launches.
  • Support production and quality activities as needed.
  • ONC or equivalent in Electronics Engineering.
  • Experience in manual testing and integration.
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of automated test software and PLC programming.
  • Experience with CAD packages and communication protocols.
  • Understanding of digital camera/video protocols and networking infrastructure.
