Position: Test Engineer - Electromechanical Systems
Location: Horsham, United Kingdom (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £40,000 + Benefits
Defense & Space manufacturer seeks engineer to test electro-optical-mechanical components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and systems.
Responsibilities:
- Perform acceptance testing on electro-optical-mechanical components, subassemblies, assemblies, and systems using standard test equipment like power supplies, multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Accurately record test results, report issues to the engineering team, and conduct fault diagnosis for production or design problems.
- Assist in developing test procedures and factory acceptance test documentation.
- Troubleshoot and repair electromechanical equipment.
- Interpret complex technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and PCB schematics.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Adhere to company procedures, policies, goals, health & safety regulations, and quality standards (ISO 9001).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide field service support when required.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proficient in manually testing electrical and electromechanical systems.
- Ability to write comprehensive test plans and acceptance tests for new product launches.
- Support production and quality activities as needed.
- ONC or equivalent in Electronics Engineering.
- Experience in manual testing and integration.
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge of automated test software and PLC programming.
- Experience with CAD packages and communication protocols.
- Understanding of digital camera/video protocols and networking infrastructure.
