THE OPPORTUNITY

My client is an established IT solution consultancy with ambitious growth plans for the coming year. As part of these plans, they are looking to extend their Service Desk Support Team by hiring a new IT Support Engineer.

  • Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

  • Hybrid Working: No, this role is based in the office
  • Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours a week

As a leading provider of IT services and solutions, delivering excellence to clients across various industries is paramount. This is an all-encompassing position dealing with 1st and 2nd line troubleshooting, supporting across 3rd line fixes, and offering the opportunity to work on wider project-based roles.

THE ROLE

The IT Support Engineer role is a pivotal position within the organization, requiring a candidate with a passion for problem-solving, exceptional customer communication skills, and a keen understanding of IT systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Support: Engage with clients to provide comprehensive troubleshooting across hardware, software, and mobile devices. Provide technical expertise to end-users through various channels, including phone, email, and remote assistance.
  • Issue Resolution: Take ownership of support queries, ensure timely and effective resolution, and manage the entire process through the Autotask Service Desk system.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Thoroughly document service actions, closed calls, resolutions, and maintain an accurate record of clients' IT infrastructure.
  • Project Management: Conduct software and hardware auditing, license management, and actively participate in project work, either independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Infrastructure Management: Perform system administration on client infrastructure and servers, manage corporate anti-virus and firewall solutions, handle patch management for both desktops and servers, and proactively identify opportunities to enhance and secure clients' infrastructure.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Microsoft 365 Proficiency: Expertise in Microsoft 365 deployments, licensing, and feature sets, with hands-on experience in Microsoft Intune, Conditional Access, Mobile Device Management and demonstrable 365 tenant administration experience.
  • Diverse Technical Experience: Proven background in IT Support Engineer roles across various levels, preferably in an MSP environment. Familiarity with ITIL practices is desirable.
  • Infrastructure Support: Competence in Azure Active Directory, Windows Server 2016/2019, Active Directory, and extensive knowledge of Backup Technologies both in cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Networking: Proficiency in configuring, supporting, and maintaining WAN and LAN networking, routers, firewalls, spam and web filters, VPN solutions, and virtual desktop/server technologies including VMware, Hyper V & Citrix.
