Position: Junior Electronics Engineer

Location: Reading | £30,000 - £37,000 | Flexible hours

KO2's client is a pioneering robotics company that specializes in developing wheeled robotic platforms designed to perform high-voltage surveys in substations. After groundbreaking work in nuclear environments like Chernobyl, the company identified an opportunity to apply its expertise in the high-voltage substation space. These advanced robots protect human lives by safely conducting inspections in hazardous indoor substations, where the extreme voltage demands resilience against electrical discharge.

KO2's client is now seeking a Junior Electronics Engineer or an experienced Electronics Technician to join their dynamic tem. This is an exciting in-house role based in Reading, offering hands-on work, primarily focused on testing and fault-finding printed circuit boards (PCBs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Testing PCBs as they arrive at the office
  • Fault-finding down to component level on PCBs
  • Crimping cables and performing repair work
  • Analogue and digital circuit work
  • Autonomous learning, with opportunities for interaction with the team

This position offers a clear path for growth, progressing into a more advanced electronics engineer role over time. You'll have the opportunity to transition into an electronics design position as you gain experience.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Electronics technician or junior electronics engineer looking to advance
  • Strong skills in PCB fault-finding, testing, and repair
  • Proficient in soldering and working with analogue and digital circuits
  • Programming experience would be a bonus
  • Self-motivated and able to learn independently
