The Job You'll Do:
- Produce bespoke manufacturing aids using a variety of manual milling, turning, and grinding machines along with a variety of other machines and hand tools.
- Making precision tools (such as jigs, fixtures and press tools), special guides and holding devices.
- The post is to work in a small team on site at the client's main manufacturing facility.
- Primarily work autonomously, however when required, work in a small project-based team along with engineering, quality and production team members.
- Maintaining individual quality and safety standards, keeping records, maintaining equipment and supplies.
About You:
- Previous experience within a similar role as Toolmaker within the engineering industry is essential.
- The successful candidate will have an extensive background working in a toolroom or very similar environment (fitter turner for example).
- Experience of setting and operating CNC milling machines or lathes would also be desirable, but not essential.
- Problem solving and tool improvement.
- Must be able to work on own initiative.
- Attention to detail and accuracy of work.
- Be organised and have the ability to prioritise and multi-task.
- Be able to communicate effectively to own team and other departments.
- Be efficient with working practices.
