That means working collaboratively with people across all areas of the organisation to continuously develop and improve what we offer.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Test Lead with wide experience to take on leadership for the Delta Test Team within IT. What it's like to work here

The Trust is continuing to invest in technology to deliver ambitious strategic goals. Our IT department delivers operational support and several sizable business driven programmes at any one time, as well as supporting a large operational national user base of 12,000 staff, 60,000 volunteers and almost 6 million members.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon. However, there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you'll be doing

You'll help define and apply test practices, processes, techniques and tooling to ensure the required level of quality standards are met in your team. As a Test Lead, you'll facilitate and co-ordinate testing and quality engineering activities with other colleagues and stakeholders, both within and outside IT. The role is varied, with stimulating challenges and lots of opportunity to learn and grow.

As a strong team player and technical leader, you'll form close relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and vendor or third-party team members. You'll adopt the ‘shift testing left' principle and lead effective Test Engagement to create a modern and clear Test Approach(National Trust standard). You'll ensure that the teams are set up for success by helping them adopt the most appropriate test practices, processes, techniques and tooling, in accordance with the National Trust's Test Principles. You'll be hands on using your Test experience and will collaborate with the Project Management team to ensure the testing pipeline is accurately defined and resourced accordingly.

You'll also take an active role in the wider Test community, joining the Testing Community of Practice. As part of this, you will help shape, improve and promote our testing approaches at the Trust by actively collaborating with colleagues.
