Proactive Personnel are currently searching for a Materials Coordinator for an international manufacturing company with a large site based in Oldham, this is a contract position initially but will consider a permanent contract for the right person.
Role Purpose
- Enable operations to produce according to plan by making Raw Materials available in time with required quantities.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely call off of RM and ensure delivery performance to planned requirements"
- Manage suppliers in such a way that support the optimization of the global supply chain performance and ensure product availability in line with applicable targets.
- Collecting input from Supply Network Planner and Production Scheduler about future requirements (both short and long term) and act as key contact to RM supplier.
- Create/issue supplier schedules utilising the relevant businesses system
- Place discrete purchase orders to suppliers and facilitate follow up on delivery performance
- Arrange and coordinate any sub-contract processing of WIP
- Provide appropriate cover for Production Scheduler when necessary
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure proactive, timely and accurate communication to key stakeholders across the value chain to mitigate any risks and facilitate decision making as required.
- Maintain planning Master data for raw material following the policies given by SNP.
- Maintain Site Business System planning data to enable align of production plan with Sales Orders and Purchase Orders
- E2E management and Order Creation in appropriate systems for sub-contract processing, i.e., sterilization
- Set up new materials and contribute to PIPO project striving to minimize left over costs
- Place call offs & follow up shipments and forecast sharing
- Follow up transactional data correctness such as PO updates
- In case of delivery deviations inform stakeholders and work jointly on solution and impact assessment
- Support Quality Department to resolve and close-out of supplier CAPAs.
- Identify and drive improvement within RM planning and initiatives to reach targets set in organization
- Support Finance in driving inventory health and minimizing RM scrap and slob costs
- Gather input from Supply Network Planner and share with suppliers to secure mid- and long-term feasible plan
- In case of conflict in supply involve SNP for correct alignment
- Proactively identify potential supply risks along all horizons and define alternative mitigation scenario (e.g. what-if scenarios).
- Focus on RM stock values; Supplier performance (OTD); Service level on RM in site and SLOB & scrap on RM
Decisions taken solely:
- Plan and execute purchase order process towards suppliers
- Approve deviation on supply within given boundaries
Decisions taken jointly:
- Supply priorities - with Production Scheduler and Supply Network planner
- Initial stock build (Launch - New products or PIPOs)- with relevant stakeholders
- Actions on slow moving and obsolete stock - with Factory Finance and Supply Network Planner
- Airfreight according to business rules and with alignment with Supply Network Planner
- Communicates with manufacturing operations personnel to coordinate supply levels and assist in establishing production priorities to ensure most efficient and cost -effective purchasing.
- Make Master data adjustments to improve planning and secure RM availability
- Actions needed to resolve critical supply situations - with relevant people in the Operations and Commercial function.
Qualifications/experience:
- Minimum experience of 2 years working with an ERP system.
- Problem solving capabilities and Lean knowledge
Desirable
Syspro, SAP and/or Rapid Response knowledge would be an asset.

Monday - Thursday 07:45-17:00, Friday 07:45-13:45
28 days holiday including BH, increasing to 33 after 12 weeks
