Planning Manager

Here at Contract Personnel, we are recruiting an experienced Planning Manager to join a very client who has built a major portfolio of clients over the last few decades. My client is heavily involved in the marine industry with a major focus on manufacturing parts for boats, yachts and ships.

Overview

The purpose of the role is to manage the entire planning process, co-ordinating change improvements, streamlining production output and ensuring the customer's needs are constantly being met and exceeded.

The Role

Contract: Full time, permanent

Hours: Standard business hours

Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 (experience dependant)

Location: NR29

Main Responsibilities

  • Review previous processes and improve flow efficiencies, whilst maintaining a minimum 95% OTIF rating
  • Work alongside Purchasing and Production managers to ensure a smooth and efficient output
  • Work with planning team to focus on daily, weekly and monthly requirements
  • Take full leadership and control of the planning team
  • Reviewing planned orders, shortage reports and liaising with both the purchasing and production departments
  • Review the customer brochure and each item's impact on operational requirements
  • Recording capacity data to ensure the correct number of staff are working
  • Review current planning processes to ensure on time, in full deliveries
  • Operational awareness to highlight constraints on the current customer brochure
  • Manage the NPI process to ensure planning is maintained
  • Managing WIP variance and reporting to manage costs
  • Complete annual stocktakes
  • Maintaining integrity of system data
  • Continuing supply through material requirement reviews to meet or exceed company requirements
  • Planning effectively to ensure savings on costs
  • Inventory management
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships between departments
  • Preparing reports to agreed timelines
  • Ensuring effective introduction of new products
  • Safeguarding company cost structure
