Marketing & Development Assistant

Location: Central Cambridge

Position Type: Full-time or Part-time (Job-Share) split unto two roles, 3 days Marketing and 2 days development - on site

Hours: 37.5 hours worked per week for 47.6 weeks per year (34 weeks term-time work, 8 weeks non-term-time work and 5.07 weeks paid holiday).

Salary: £26-28k

About the Role: Join our client's team as a Marketing & Development Assistant to support the Head of Marketing in executing the school's marketing strategy and the Director of Development with alumni relations and development administration. This role offers flexibility, with options for full-time or part-time job-share arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Update website content, including writing, editing, and uploading images.
  • Implement SEO recommendations and maintain SEO-related data.
  • Produce, edit, and store photography and video content.
  • Assist in the layout of publications using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Draft and proofread newsletters and social media content.
  • Maintain mailing lists and contact details.
  • Assist with direct mailers and gathering content for publications.
  • Monitor alumni email inbox, manage the alumni database, and support alumni events.
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Development.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in communications and digital marketing.
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of social and digital media, SEO, and content creation.
  • Proficient in IT tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Resilience and ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Discretion and sensitivity in handling confidential information.
  • Knowledge of GDPR and safeguarding procedures.

Desirable:

  • Experience in school admissions and marketing.
  • Recognized marketing or social media qualification.
  • Portfolio of marketing communications and digital marketing work.
