About Us:
Hays are delighted to be working with one of our partner schools in the Gloucester area in their search for a History teacher to work with them, ideally on a full-time basis from September to cover a teacher due to begin her maternity leave. The school deeply value the power of historical knowledge & have made it their mission to inspire students to explore the rich tapestry of human history, understand its significance, and become informed global citizens. We foster critical thinking, empathy, and a love for learning.

The Role:

  • Teach History: Deliver engaging lessons that cover various historical periods, events, and civilisations.
  • Inspire Inquiry: Encourage students to ask questions, analyse primary sources, and think critically.
  • Promote Contextual Understanding: Help students connect historical events to contemporary issues.
  • Create a Dynamic Classroom: Use multimedia, discussions, and projects to make history come alive.
  • Support Student Growth: Provide constructive feedback and guide students toward academic excellence.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Passion for History: A genuine love for the subject and a desire to ignite curiosity.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Clear communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Adaptability: Ability to tailor lessons to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Willingness to collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects.
