Salary: £18,418 - £18,726
Working Pattern: 29 hours Weekdays (8:30 - 5:30pm)
Contract Length: Permanent
Location: Judith Adams Day Opportunity Centre, Chichester

About Judith Adams

We provide a Day Opportunity Service providing person-centred support for people over the age of 18. We support people who have a variety of care and support needs such as learning and or physical disability, autism, acquired brain injury and older people living with dementia.

We provide a vibrant, friendly environment that offers a wide range of opportunities to the people we support. We have an accessible training kitchen for cook and eat sessions, baking, sensory sessions and computer suites. We have a number of small garden areas that can be used for social engagements throughout the summer.

We are passionate about linking the individuals we support with their local community in a safe and fun way. A few of the activities we support are community engagement in the vibrant city of Chichester, bike riding for all, Steps and Sights, theatre opportunities and swimming through out the summer.

About You

To become a Support Worker with us you will be:

  • Passionate about supporting people to be the best they can be.

  • Bring a passion, or skill to the team that you can spark some excitement with the people we care for it can be anything at all from painting to poetry, to crafting. We are always looking to inspire people & would love to see what you could bring to the team.

  • Ensure people have opportunity to be involved in/Co-produce every aspect of their care and support.
  • Support people to maintain relationships important to them and to make new relationships.

Qualifications and/ experience

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills, in order to record and document activities in the provider plans.
  • Basic understanding of the needs of the people we support and their rights as an individual.
  • Demonstrable successful experience of working as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety practice, First Aid and Fire procedure, Manual Handling - Desirable
  • NVQ 2/Diploma in Care or equivalent qualification - Desirable
  • Previous experience of working in a care setting and with people who have a disability or are vulnerable - Desirable
  • Previous experience of running group activities - Desirable
