Key Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience in a Buyer/Purchaser role within the FMCG sector or a similar field involving negotiation and relationship-building.
- Skills: Proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel & Word, excellent communication skills, and strong time management.
- Desirable Background: Experience in the meat, poultry, or pet food sectors is advantageous but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Management: Contact and negotiate with suppliers, ensuring the best prices and terms are secured.
- Data Management: Enter and manage data within the CRM system, collaborating with the sales team to ensure information is effectively shared.
- Cost Optimisation: Negotiate rates with transport companies and explore options to reduce costs wherever possible.
- Relationship Building: Visit suppliers to establish and grow relationships, and attend trade shows to source new suppliers.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed on market prices to ensure products are sourced at competitive rates.
- Marketing & Lead Generation: Engage in email marketing and use social media to find and cultivate new supplier leads.
