You will be working in a North Birmingham based secondary school who are committed to engaging and inspiring pupils to achieve their potential. Our school are seeking to appoint an outstanding practitioner with experience in teaching excellence to join their successful school and become theirHead of Design & Technology (DT) to start September 2024 on a full time, temporary basis.
As Head of DT, you will lead, develop, and manage the effective delivery of an outstanding curriculum which enables the highest level of student progress and attainment. Ideally this school is looking for an experienced Head of DT however, they are willing to consider an ambitious, dedicated, and experienced DT Teacher who is looking for the next step in their career.
To be successful for this Head of DT role, you will need:
- Experience teaching DT in a secondary school, KS3-4
- A Degree in DT or a related subject and hold qualified teacher status (QTS / QTLS)
- Experience leading and managing a team
- A passion for growth and development of colleagues at all levels.
- A good understanding of policies, strategies, and development.
- Eligibility to work within the UK.
- An enhanced child workforce DBS check on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
- Up-to-date safeguarding training; Career Teachers offer FREE online Safeguarding training
- Provide a full 10-year career history and references to cover the last 2 years including current and previous employers.
- A positive mindset with a passion for teaching and learning
- Able to establish constructive and positive relationships with staff and pupils.
- Committed to raising attainment.
