Live Out Housekeeper Job - York North Yorkshire - start ASAP / early 2025 - Full-time - £40,000+ GPA
Our client is looking for an experienced Housekeeper to look after a large 4 bedroom modern private home in York. This is a wonderful role for an experienced candidate who is looking for a long-term position. This is a highly recommended role as the present part-time Housekeeper is retiring after 18 years with the family. There is also a well-established and loyal team who maintain the garden and people who provide the necessary technical support.
As the current Housekeeper is now retiring, the couple are looking for a Housekeeper who can work for them on a full-time basis to cover cleaning and other additional Housekeeping duties. The property is in York with easy access to the ring road and on-site parking.
Household of two elderly adults with occasional travelling so security will be a key part of the role with the ability to manage your own time. The candidate needs to be a thorough cleaner, but also able to support the couple with cooking, household administration and house management.
Successful candidates will have previous experience of the role, have a positive attitude and a keen eye for detail. It is a given that total discretion is required at all times.
Duties will include:
- Hands on cleaning - following a weekly schedule the Housekeeper should be able to identify what needs doing and work under their own initiative.
- Monitoring household maintenance - managing the household schedules and calendars, co-ordinating trades and contractors as and when needed
- Household security - being a key holder when the couple are away
- Bed changing and Laundry - sending the bed linen out and doing all personal laundry and ironing in house
- Wardrobe management - packing and unpacking cases
- Cooking - very basic healthy cooking - a light lunch for the couple (soups / salads) and evening meal - batch cooking and leaving food for the weekends
- Shopping and running errands, putting the food delivery away
- Driving - for shopping, taking to appointments, driving to the train station etc - use of household car for work purposes
Driver essential - excellent references and Enhanced DBS check required
This will be a full-time role, Monday to Friday, possibly 10.00 to 18.00 / 18.30 to accommodate the cooking of the evening meal
Holidays - 28 days including bank holidays
Start date - ASAP to early 2025 - will wait for the right candidate
Salary £40,000+ GPA
