About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a dynamic team in Dagenham, London. This role involves supporting children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with varied Special Educational Needs (SEN). The position is full-time, starting in September, and spans the entire academic year with the potential to become permanent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with SEN in EYFS.
  • Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities.
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials to meet each child's needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists, to support children's development.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly in an EYFS setting, is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and SEN support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
