Contentious Insolvency Assistant Manager

Gambit Search are currently working with leading accountancy firm who are looking to hire an Assistant Manager into their Contentious Insolvency team. The team handle complex insolvency cases, fraud investigations, and asset recovery for a diverse range of clients, both cross border and UK based.

Our client is looking for an experienced Contentious Insolvency Assistant Manager to support the team in managing disputes, legal challenges, and contentious insolvency cases. You will work closely with senior staff, manage client relationships, and provide strategic support on high-profile cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage insolvency assignments in line with firm procedures and statutory obligations, confirming arrangements with clients, including costs and billing.
  • Oversee a portfolio of insolvency cases (liquidations, bankruptcies), supervising staff and providing on-the-job training as needed.
  • Analyse financial records to identify issues, assets, and antecedent transactions (e.g., misfeasance, undervalue transactions).
  • Ensure assignments are completed within budget, raising significant issues with directors or partners promptly.
  • Liaise with third parties, including directors, creditors, and legal advisors, especially during litigation.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and develop knowledge of the firm's specialist services.
  • Perform senior staff reviews, monitor profitability, and identify billing opportunities.
  • Maintain technical knowledge and support recruitment, training, and marketing activities as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in contentious insolvency.
  • Strong knowledge of insolvency law and dispute resolution.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Relevant qualifications (CPI, ACA, ACCA, or similar) preferred.
