Business Development Executive (remote)

My client is a successful local organisation offering professional training in the Financial Services Sector as well as apprenticeships and leadership training.

The purpose of this role is to support the growth of the business by building new relationships with employers and maximising sales opportunities with existing accounts. The role will involve identifying prospects, nurturing client relationships, and facilitating sales, whether through direct engagement or recruitment assistance.

You will identify and develop new business opportunities in targeted markets, resulting in a measurable increase in sales revenue and market share.

You will account manage the relationship of employers and stakeholders as appropriate, capturing, and executing business development opportunities.

To be the lead on the company's recruitment requirements; attracting, sifting and presenting candidates to the organisation and employers.

Whilst this role is remote, a candidate who resides in Norfolk would be desirable to assist with initial training.

Key roles and responsibilities

Sales

Responding to sales enquiries via email and telephone

Engaging with decision makers via outbound sales activity

Identifying new business opportunities and generate leads through networking and market research

Progressing leads into booked sales appointments

Delivering sales presentation and converting leads

Upselling and cross selling our range of programmes and courses

Achieving sales targets and KPIs

Maintaining and updating CRM system

Supporting the sales administrative process for both apprenticeship and Full Cost Recovery onboarding.

Liaising with accounts team to confirm invoicing and payment of Full Cost Recovery Sales

Account Management

Develop relationships with existing customers to foster growth

Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry professionals.

Develop positive relationships with the wider business community to fully understand their niche requirements, culture and approaches to recruitment and workforce development

Gather client feedback and ensure customer satisfaction

Identify upselling opportunities within managed accounts

Recruitment

Listing apprenticeship vacancies on all approved platforms

Working with the Marketing team to promote opportunities

Proactively seek candidates and engage with them using a variety of digital tools, including video-based introductions

Receiving and reviewing applications, managing interviews and assessments, and creating a shortlist of candidates before submitting to clients

Screen candidates through video interviewing systems

Build a pool of potential candidates eligible and suitable to our service sectors

Match candidates to opportunities held by the Business Development team, and assist in seeking opportunities where there is no immediate match

Requesting references and checking the suitability of applicants before submitting their details to the client

Briefing and preparing candidates for interview, including video interviews

Preparing CVs and correspondence to forward to clients

Organising interviews for candidates as requested by the client

Informing candidates about the results of interviews

Negotiating pay and finalising arrangements between clients and candidates, including organising the enrolment and induction to appropriate programmes

Working towards and exceeding targets that may relate to the number of candidates placed.

Use, maintain and assist in the development of systems and processes to drive the business forward, ensuring clear audit trails and efficient working practices.

Engage with current apprentices seeking careers advice, proving impartial Information, Advice and Guidance

Personal Specification

Essential

  • Experience of working within the further education or recruitment industry.
  • Minimum of 2 years Business Development experience
  • Ability to develop new business and attract new clients.
  • Excellent written and spoken

communication

skills, the ability to present information in a clear manner and deliver presentations.

  • The ability to influence and negotiate.
  • Flexible and able to attend training and events outside of normal working hours as and when required.

Desirable

  • Proven track record for generating revenue through new business development within the training sector.
  • Previous experience in delivering Careers advice and/or IAG.
  • Experience in using The Apprenticeship Service
