Damp & Mould/Disrepair Surveyor

Your new role
Your new role will see you primarily working within the Damp and Mould/Disrepair team, where you will be completing damp and Mould surveyors as well as Disrepair surveys. You will be expected to identify building defects, and complete further investigations to accurately diagnose and rectify any faults including damp remediation. The successful candidate will be specifically identifying work for the DLOP team as well as managing contractors to ensure all work is completed within time and budget.
Additionally, the role will require surveyors to produce high quality condition reports of each property that our solicitors can rely on in court and be willing to appear in court as a witness if required. This role will also involve supporting our team of Response Surveyors by completing comprehensive damp investigations on problematic properties, providing advice and training to other members of the team and handling complaints. The role will be primarily based in the Wiltshire and Hampshire region, however there may be requirements to occasionally cover the business wider operating regions such as Devon, Somerset and Dorset.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will require

  • A HNC or higher qualification in Building, Surveying damp remedial works or similar technical field. Or the candidate will be able to demonstrate that you have 6 plus years of experience within the sector.
  • Candidates will require a strong knowledge of Disrepair legislation, the Landlord Tennancy Act 1985, as well as HHSRS assessments.
  • Candidates will be required to have confidence using IT, especially the MS Word, and be comfortable producing written reports.
  • You will be experienced at working to budgets and deadlines. While also maintaining personal performance and that of junior members of the team.
  • Additionally, all candidates must be confident communicators, to communicate with all key stakeholders. Your new company prides themselves on their customer interaction skills, so being able to read a audience is a essential skill.
