Job Type: Full-Time - Permanent.

Salary: £37,000 - £40,000 Per Annum, Depending on Experience.

Location: Coventry CV6.

About The Role:

A skilled, innovative Production Engineer, capable of implementing processes and procedures as part of the company's development and delivery of safety critical products, while equally versed in problem solving and continuous improvement techniques. You will be required to work as part of a multi-disciplined team, as well as being a self-driven individual capable of achieving project target requirements and timescales.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Able to provide an insightful, productive working relationship with design, production, quality and planning teams to allow new products to be introduced smoothly and effectively within the business.
  • Work in conjunction with Design Engineering to formulate manufacturing processes for new products, focused on error proofing techniques, Poke-Yoke, etc; through the latest manufacturing and work holding methods.
  • Create detailed production routings, process flow documents, Standard operating procedures, PFMEAs and control plans.
  • Capable of CNC machine programming via CAD/CAM in readiness for machining prove-out: milling 5 axis capable.
  • To ensure efficient production methods are established and maintain continuous improvement of production operations.
  • Good understanding of the Design for Manufacture philosophy to enable right first-time manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Good understanding of multiple manufacturing techniques - Milling, turning, assembly methods, fixturing etc.
  • Improve the present manufacturing and production processes to boost productivity, quality, and profitability for the company on both new products and current production processes.
  • To continually seek to improve shop floor / product performance and efficiency using available tools and methodology i.e. Time measurement, FMEA, Lean, 6 sigma, SMED, 6s.
  • Strong, innovative problem-solving skills - able to drive projects through to completion.
  • To support manufacturing by actioning improvements on any concerns / problems through investigation of raised Non-conformances.
  • To create new routings and routing amendments through the internal ERP system as part of the engineering change control process.
  • To justify the purchase of consumable tooling and equipment as part of new products or process improvements.
  • Ability to work well under tight timescales and pressure.
  • Good organisation skills for a demanding environment.
  • Attention to detail and quality.
