Established in 1997 as the first manufacturer of sushi for the UK supermarket industry, Taiko has evolved into the most innovative manufacturer of Sushi, Food To Go, Prepared Meals and Snacking products in the UK, supplying Waitrose, Tesco and Sainsbury's to name a few. Over the past 25 years Taiko has launched more first to market Sushi and Food to Go products than any other sushi manufacturer in the UK.

As a Production Quality Controller you are ensures that products meet the required quality standards. This role involves monitoring the production process, inspecting products, and implementing quality control procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine CCP checks and accurately document the results of the inspections and testing
  • Monitor all other control points essential for traceability and record them correctly
  • Monitor and make sure that the temperature of raw materials, components and finished products are within spec during the process.
  • Check compliance to Food Safety and QA procedures including control measures for Allergens
  • Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Check products against factory product specifications to ensure compliance with specifications, and consistency in quality and report any out of specification.
  • Check that the interim cleaning procedures are strictly followed throughout the process and product lines are clean and free from allergen residues.
  • Quarantine any non-conforming product or equipment that may affect the final product quality or safety and report to Supervisor immediately.
  • Hand over the completed check sheets to the technical department for reviewing
  • Be flexible to assist with other jobs within Production Department as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to notice small defects or deviations from standards.
  • Capable of analyzing data and making informed decisions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to report findings and collaborate with team members.
  • Understanding of the production process and quality control standards relevant to the industry.
  • Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.

Shopfloor condition:

  • Working in cold environment
  • May able to do Lifting and moving materials
  • Working with chemical for vegetable cleaning.
  • May involve standing for long periods and using various testing equipment.
