Gleeson Recruitment Group are pleased to be working with a leading retailer to recruit for an Instore Marketing Manager on a FTC basis.

Job title: Instore Marketing Manager

Location: Walsall

Salary: £45,000-£65,000

Start date: June-July 2024

Contract: Full time, 12 month maternity cover

Hybrid: 1 day work from home

The role:

In this role, you will create and execute marketing campaigns within over 850 shops to drive sales. You will develop campaign creatives, oversee POS materials, manage print partners for timely delivery, and coordinate in-store audio programs. You will need a strong creative eye, attention to detail, and retail knowledge. You will collaborate with senior teams, Retail Ops, Legal, external stakeholders, and wider marketing teams to deliver effective campaigns within a £2.5 million annual budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute impactful in-store marketing campaigns to drive sales and enhance shopper experience.
  • Oversee the creative and production of POS elements, ensuring brand consistency and quality.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders to deliver effective POS communications in line with business goals.
  • Ensure timely and budget-friendly delivery of POS and plastics to new stores, extensions, and refits.
  • Coordinate supplier-funded in-store marketing materials and ensure compliance.
  • Coach a team to support in-store activity execution.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders for input and approval of marketing materials.
  • Manage the online ordering portal, ensuring POS availability and stock.
  • Oversee communication briefs to ensure effective campaign implementation and compliance.
  • Manage the print tender process to ensure top-notch service, innovation, and cost efficiency.
  • Handle a £2.5 million annual in-store marketing budget and raise POs.
  • Identify and develop new in-store innovation opportunities.
  • Monitor competitors for new ideas and best practices.
  • Share successes, learnings, and industry trends with the team.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture.

Candidate criteria:

  • Demonstrable experience in in-store marketing for a consumer-facing brand, ideally retail-based.
  • Strong creative eye and ability to supervise the creative process.
  • Extensive knowledge of in-store marketing principles and best practices.
  • Experience managing a team.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating impactful campaigns.
  • Strong organisational skills to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects.
  • Proactive, collaborative approach with the ability to build and influence key relationships.
  • Experience managing a significant multi-million-pound budget.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical understanding, and commercial acumen.
