Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience working with children, particularly those with behavioural needs, in an educational setting.
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills and the ability to implement effective strategies to support positive behaviour.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with the child, parents, and colleagues.
- Be patient, empathetic, and dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Show a proactive attitude and the ability to adapt to the child's evolving needs.
- Hold relevant qualifications or training in education or behaviour support (desirable but not essential).
Responsibilities
- Provide 1-1 support to the Year 2 child, focusing on behaviour management and engagement with learning activities.
- Implement and monitor personalised behaviour plans, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO.
- Assist the child in developing social skills and positive interactions with peers.
- Support the child in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
- Communicate regularly with the child's parents and the school's support team to ensure consistent and effective support.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages the child's emotional and academic growth.
