Business Development / Account Manager - Conferences & Events - East London - up to £55k + bonus and benefits
We are looking for an experienced Business Development / Account Manager, with a track record of successful sales within the events industry, to join a leading events venue in East London.
Joining a world class venue, the main focus of the Business Development / Account Manager role is to actively seek new opportunities for national and international organisations to do business with. You will promote the venue to a wide range of clients, actively pursue new business opportunities and leverage initiative and marketing activities in order to close high-yield business deals.
Your exceptional communication, interpersonal and networking skills will ensure you have a strong contact base within national and international associations where you can enhance opportunities for revenue growth.
Please note: this is an office based role; therefore you will need to be able to easily and comfortably commute to E16.
Key responsibilities as the Business Development / Account Manager will include:
- Actively pursuing new business opportunities and successfully closing high-yield business deals
- Building and maintaining a strong network of contacts to facilitate new and repeat business
- Identifying opportunities to up-sell products and services
- Managing key accounts and developing existing clients to ensure high levels of report business and account growth
- Achieving high levels of client satisfaction and service and managing client relationships
- Attending national and international networking events, industry conferences and trade exhibitions
- Developing strong relationships with clients, utilising every opportunity to create new business contacts and potential leads
- Undertaking sales related projects, working with senior management to manage the scope, direction and success of each project
- Maintaining accurate sales data and producing reports as required

- Demonstrable success in similar high-profile sales / business development / account management roles within the events industry
- Excellent commercial acumen
- Client focused
- Advanced consultative sales and negotiation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication capabilities with the ability to actively build and maintain solid business relationships
- Proficiency in lead qualification techniques and processes
- Strong presentation skills and the ability and confidence to deliver to large groups
- Success in influencing and persuading
- IT literate with solid MS Office skills and experience in using databases to manage accounts
- Proactive team player
