HR Assistant

Reed HR are seeking a dedicated HR Assistant to join a charity based in the beautiful New Forest area. This is a permanent position, ideal for someone passionate about making a difference and supporting the smooth operation of a busy HR function.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, conducting reference checks and issuing employment contracts.
  • Support the HR department in implementing policies and procedures.
  • Maintain employee records according to policy and legal requirements.
  • Review employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance.
  • Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data, like absences, bonus and leaves.
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Help organise training & development initiatives.
  • Participate in HR projects, like the collection of employee feedback.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an HR Assistant or relevant human resources/administrative position.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
  • Ability to work with MS Office Suite.
  • Understanding of HR functions and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Superb organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • CIPD qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
