Excellent opportunity for a Facilities Project Manager to work for a highly reputable organisation who operate in the Aviation industry working on their research & testing facility. This is a single site role delivering facilities/infrastructure based upgrades (CAPEX) across the site

Description

The successful candidate will lead the delivery of business improvement, and infrastructure investment and development projects and associated business activities competently, securely and safely. Work in close cooperation with the technical managers, resource managers, other project managers and the management team.

You will be responsible for delivering CAPEX infrastructure projects across the site (e.g lighting upgrades, fire alarms, machine moves / ugrades etc)

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare project justification/business case documentation
  • Management of estimating/quotations, procurement, risk management; planning, project delivery
  • Management of internal project teams / procurement & management of external contractors
  • Act as the prime point of contact with heads of department when resource and/or schedule conflicts are escalated from projects
  • Ensure timely initiation of external procurement requirements and support negotiations with suppliers

Profile

  • Experience delivering CAPEX projects within an industrial / manufacturing facility is essential
  • A university degree or equivalent skills and experience in an engineering or technically demanding discipline
  • Demonstrated experience of delivering complex technical projects, preferably with a capital investment/infrastructure development aspect, with a record of delivering within challenging time, quality and cost targets.
  • A project management qualification is beneficial. Commercial experience is also desirable including meaningful involvement with managing subcontractors
  • Familiarity with managing Feasibility Study, FEED, EPC, Commissioning and handover project phases, and with the regulatory framework applying to the delivery of infrastructure projects, would be advantageous.
  • The ability to understand a technical narrative in unfamiliar disciplines with guidance from technical experts
  • Excellent communications skills such that the intent is clearly understandable
