Internal Audit Manager, Fixed term contract

My client is looking for an experienced internal auditor to support a small internal audit department for a fixed term contract. The bank operates a hybrid working policy and you would be expected to work from the office two-three days/week.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute audit assignments, perform risk assessments, and identify relevant risks
  • Evaluate systems and controls for wholesale banking activities using a risk-based approach
  • Conduct allocated audits, reporting findings, and making recommendations for control, governance improvement, and efficiency.
  • Produce high-quality audit reports, scoping documentation, and audit programs.
  • Review and prepare working papers, audit files, and dashboards per Audit Group instructions and policies.
  • Assist in the follow-up of recommendations.
  • Maintain and establish regular business partnering throughout the implementation of open recommendations.
  • Carry out continuous monitoring and risk identification
  • Conduct additional ad hoc and emergency assignments as requested.

The suitable candidate for this position should come from a banking internal audit background, ideally having had exposure to wholesale and/or investment banking. Demonstrable experience of leading audit engagements, delivering to deadlines and managing stakeholder relationships is essential.
