What's it all about?

Within Atom's Finance department sits the Value Management function that supports the business through the diagnosis, solution design, and implementation of cost control methodologies that are key to driving our strategy. As part of the Value Management team, the Value Framework Analyst will support the Programme Lead and Value Manager in the delivery, management, and workflow for a small team of experts, all driving Atom towards its vision of cost leadership.

You'll work with the Value Programme Lead and Value Manager to build strong relationships across all business functions to drive positive change through articulation of a clear vision for the cost operating model. You'll build your knowledge of successful value and cost management functions and use your experience of similar roles to inform a strong value and cost control methodology. In addition to SME skills, you'll develop matrix management capabilities, working with a variety of topics involving a wide range of business areas.

In this role you'll contribute to the provision of excellent cost governance and the design of a simple but robust framework whilst building relationships with key stakeholders and budget owners including prepping materials to support stakeholder meetings to challenge costs & highlights risks to budget. You'll also deliver analysis, scrutiny and provide expert input on cost aspects of financial proposals and expenditure plans.

You will:

  • Assist the value management function in encouraging improved reporting discipline, analysis and insights that may be derived from budgetary and spend data to mature the department and the enterprise model.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the Strategy team to ensure consistency of messaging, progress updates and external investor relations materials are consistent and aligned.
  • Identify, analyse, and quantify financial risks, options, and opportunities.
  • Be a positive champion for change, make costs interesting by focusing on the benefits.
  • Support the programme lead in the implementation of a bespoke best practice approach for Atoms value management framework.
  • Help to deliver the programme of change across all business areas, consulting and bridging requirements and dependencies for success.
  • Provide the rigour and controls to enable processes to operate successfully in BAU with documented processes, procedures, and documentation.

What do we need from you?

  • Experience in a finance function with some responsibility for forecasting and business partnering.
  • Finance Industry Expert
  • Model design experience & advanced Excel modelling skills.
  • Proven record of identifying and building cost control solutions and governance frameworks.
  • Technical accounting expertise.
  • Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and team-working capabilities
  • Hard-working and self-motivated
  • Part-Qualified accountant
