THE OPPORTUNITY
I am delighted to be working again with a fantastic global distribution company in their search for a dynamic and experienced Network Engineer.
Salary: £42,000 Location: Northallerton, North Yorkshire Hybrid working: No. this role requires you to be on site. Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday
The business has seen a large financial investment over recent years including new technology, as a result alongside supporting the day to day IT infrastructure there will be lots of immediate project work to get involved and lead on.
DAY TO DAY
Joining the growing IT Support Team you will work closely with the infrastructure team in both providing senior IT support across the site along with delivering many upcoming projects.
You'll be joining a close team, who are focussed on delivering a constant and leading infrastructure for the business, the role will be varied and fast-paced so an ability to work under pressure with adaptability is key.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Provide comprehensive support to business and IT colleagues for complex Networking issues.
- Serve as a key escalation point for the IT Helpdesk.
- Manage alerts and support for external Security Operations Centre to bolster network security.
- Oversee Wireless Infrastructure administration.
- Handle new network installations and cabling installations including lifecycle replacements, to maintain network integrity.
- Administer the IP Telephony System.
- Assist in IT infrastructure procurement.
- Perform site IP Network administration.
- Ensure best practice across IT network's resilience.
- Offer valuable suggestions to improve the IT network.
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
You will bring 8-10 years of wider IT support experience ideally you will come from an Infrastructure background with 2 – 3 years of work placed Networking experience.
- Proficient in IT Networking and Network Security (CCNA / CCNP certified).
- Comprehensive grasp of IT Infrastructure and End User Computing.
- Effective communication with IT users and 3rd parties.
- Balancing daily tasks with project responsibilities.
- Customer-focused for prompt, high-quality IT support.
- Clear and articulate communication, both verbally and in writing.
- Flexible availability for occasional out-of-hours work.
