We are seeking a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 4 student with Autism. This temporary position, running from September through July 2025, offers you the chance to significantly influence a young person's life while gaining valuable experience in the education sector.
1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to a Year 4 student with Autism, assisting in their educational and social development.
- Develop and implement tailored learning plans and interventions in collaboration with the SENCO and classroom teacher.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that promotes the student's independence and well-being.
- Utilize effective communication and behavioral strategies to facilitate the student's engagement in class activities.
- Offer emotional and social support, helping the student build essential life skills.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the student's needs are met.
1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant - Job Requirements:
- Experience or qualifications in supporting children with Autism or Special Educational Needs.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to adapt to the unique learning styles and needs of the student.
- Willingness to learn and participate in training related to Autism and special education.
