We are recruiting this position on behalf of our client, our client is a leading global manufacturer of passenger information systems for the public transport industry, Their head office is in Lewes, East Sussex. They are seeking a Test Operator to join their dynamic MLC department during an exciting period of growth and change.
Day to Day of the role:
- Work from drawings and set test procedures to check PCB and final assemblies for conformity using semi-automated and hand/bench test equipment.
- Assemble and test a range of products including Controllers, Internal Displays, HTCs, and TFTs.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of test tasks.
- Maintain critical quality requirements and strive to achieve and better test and assembly times.
- Organise the workplace and test methods efficiently.
- Support and collaborate with other departments within the operations function.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Attention to detail and good hand skills.
- Competence in hand assembly work and experience with electronic assemblies.
- Understanding of relevant procedures, standards, and technical documentation.
- Good communication skills and computer literacy.
- Experience using common test equipment.
- Preferred experience in soldering and rework of soldering-related faults.
- Preferred IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies certification.
- Basic knowledge of electronic component types and polarities.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to use initiative.
- Flexibility where appropriate and a thorough awareness of safety issues.
