Job Description: Procurement Specialist
Location: Kingswinford

Salary: £36,500 per annum

Benefits:

25 days holiday plus bank holidays
Annual bonus (this year's full bonus equates to around £3300 as an indication)
Contracted hours 8.30am - 5pm

Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join a dynamic engineering business based in Kingswinford. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing procurement activities, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services to support our operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and terms to optimize pricing, quality, and delivery schedules.
Sourcing and Selection: Identify potential suppliers, conduct market research, and evaluate proposals to select the most suitable vendors.
Contract Management: Manage contract lifecycles, including drafting agreements, monitoring performance, and resolving any contract-related issues or disputes.
Cost Control: Monitor procurement budgets, analyse spending patterns, and identify opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies.
Risk Management: Assess and mitigate procurement risks, such as supply chain disruptions, pricing fluctuations, and vendor dependencies.
Process Improvement: Continuously review and refine procurement processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with internal policies and regulations.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, finance, and operations teams, to understand their procurement needs and provide strategic guidance and support.
Data Analysis: Utilize procurement data and analytics tools to generate insights, track key performance indicators, and inform decision-making processes.
Compliance: Ensure procurement activities adhere to legal requirements, industry standards, and company policies, maintaining accurate records and documentation.

Qualifications and Skills:

Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management roles, preferably within the engineering or manufacturing sector.
Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to drive favourable outcomes and build productive supplier relationships.
Excellent analytical abilities, with proficiency in data analysis and procurement software/tools.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on driving continuous improvement and achieving business objectives.
Knowledge of procurement best practices, contract law, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPIM) are desirable but not essential.
