Jackson Hogg Procurement division are exclusively partnering with TechPoint Gemini Tec, a PCB Assembly & Manufacturer based in Aldershot, on the appointment of an Electronics Buyer to join their team.
Working within the purchasing team they are seeking an experienced electronics buyer to work in their estimating and purchasing team. Taking ownership of project and programs together with support continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement and supply chain processes.
Working hours are Mon to Thurs 08:30-17:00 and Fridays 08:30-16:00.
They work with a wide variety of leading OEMs and technology-focused customers across 20 different sectors. Their ultra-modern factory is configured to produce complex hardware for NPI to medium batch series production of PCBA assemblies and finished product assembly and test.
The Role
- Purchasing contact for a variety of NPI and scheduled production programs.
- Reporting to departments and customers of material status.
- Sourcing electronic components and materials to forecasted budget and delivery plans.
- Working with suppliers on price negotiation and cost reduction.
- Resolve any issues related to supplier performance, including delays, quality concerns and pricing discrepancies.
- Working within an MRP environment and raising/placing tactical purchase orders on suppliers.
- Handling ECNs and works order controls.
- Working technical queries directly with customers.
- Prepare and sign off material costings in the quote/bid phase.
Person Specification
- Good in depth knowledge of electronic components.
- Inventory management skills.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.
- High level of familiarity with Microsoft Office, predominantly Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, demonstrable with customers and suppliers.
- Hold a full, clean UK Driving Licence and be within a commutable distance to offices in Aldershot, under usual travelling conditions.
