We are hiring for a Software Development Manager for a prominent business travel company renowned for its innovative product. This company is dedicated to building a best-in-class online booking capability for business travelers. Leveraging AWS cloud services, it provides an extensible platform that supports the company's ongoing business transformation and expansion into new markets. The role is crucial for the company's continued success and growth, playing a significant part in their strategic planning and technical leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of solutions, features, and improvements for a complex SaaS software product using AWS services.
  • Make key design decisions to ensure scalability, reliability, and security of the platform.
  • Provide leadership to development teams and the broader business.
  • Recommend engineering best practices, focusing on leveraging AWS technologies.
  • Engage with the Product team to articulate system behavior to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support internal departments with the adoption of new functionality and provide technical leadership.
  • Formulate solution proposals, engage with stakeholders, and drive implementation to completion.
  • Build relationships with suppliers to ensure alignment on all developments and enhancements.
  • Promote the product to clients and support new business opportunities.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Planning and strategic thinking to align software development efforts with business goals.
  • Experience in the software development lifecycle and requirement management for SaaS applications.
  • Strong understanding of AWS capabilities and database technologies, including Aurora DB and AWS Lambda.
  • Knowledge of data security, cyber essentials, ISO 27701 standards, and UK GDPR.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time-management skills.
  • Ability to self-manage and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to travel if required.

Desirable:

  • Experience with user profile management systems, identity management, authentication, and SSO.
  • Familiarity with automated test and validation toolsets, accessibility toolsets, and WCAG.
  • Experience working with distributed development teams and 3rd party supplier management.
