Production Operator

  • * IMMEDIATE STARTS** Quick Staff UK is pleased to work with an established manufacturing organisation in the Tonyrefail area. On their behalf, we would like to recruit a team of reliable Production Operatives to join their growing business. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity after 12 weeks on assignment. Within this role you will be responsible for the preparation, packaging and handling of a range of finished goods, using company approved standard operating procedures, whilst abiding with all relevant company policies for health & safety, hygiene and quality to ensure that these products comply with the agreed specification and are prepared in time to satisfy the production programme.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To be aware of products to be run at the start of each shift and ensure the correct labels are available.
  • To ensure specification sheet is always followed.
  • To ensure all packaging is conducted in accordance with company hygiene requirements.
  • To feed all line equipment and participate in line equipment changes as required.
  • To ensure that materials are effectively used, and wastage is maintained within permitted levels.
  • To be aware at all times of the company health and safety policy. Ensure all processes are conducted in accordance with company hygiene requirements and the work area is clean and tidy.
  • To highlight any shortages to avoid unnecessary downtime.
  • To ensure maximum effective utilisation of machinery and run machinery at the correct speed levels.
  • To ensure production administration procedures are properly and accurately completed.
  • To lift items up to 25kg adhering to company health and safety.
  • To ensure specification sheets are always followed.
  • To assist in the training of other colleagues.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Have previous experience in a manufacturing environment (ideally food manufacturing).
  • Be self-motivated, dedicated, resourceful, adaptable, and flexible.
  • Be a team player with good communication.
  • Be punctual.
  • Possess a good level of literacy and numeracy.
  • Desire to undertake ongoing training.
  • Have GCSE Level or equivalent education

WORKING HOURS:
6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm
Monday to Friday (rotating weekly)
