Our client is a major FMCG distributor in the UK. We are delighted to assist them in their search for a Key Account Manager covering 100 accounts across Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire and Cambridgeshire.

Reporting into the Head of Group Sales, this role will involve developing business across specialised sectors including healthcare and education with a emphasis on key account management. You will be expected to develop new business too.

Key Accountabilities as Key Account Manager:

  • Aligned to National accounts, you will enjoy a wide and accountable remit. This will cover the identification of new opportunities and new business wins along with identifying category gaps within your existing customers using new strategies and tactics.
  • You'll convert customers using strong buying and negotiation skills; and the delivery of value-added initiatives and solutions to meet a wide range of customer needs.
  • You must bring determination, tenacity and a genuine passion to get in front of hard-to-reach decision makers, and the flexible and results-driven approach required to convert them.
  • This will be backed up with drive and motivation, and the ability to work cohesively within a team whilst using your own capabilities to deliver results through your own actions.

Ideal Person for Business Development Manager:

  • Able to demonstrate a proven track record in developing a similar FMCG Sales based / Key Account Management role.
  • Proven ability to regularly exceed sales targets in your career to date.
  • A team player.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels with a consultative approach to sales that adds value.
