As Financial Controller you will be responsible for managing the day to day Finance for the company, as well as initially helping to transition the ledgers and accounting processes from Sage to SAP. You will be responsible for producing monthly financial statements as well as playing a key part in ensuring the UK business has a good financial control environment.

My client is the UK susbsidary of an International Manufacturer and Retailer, with a global sales reach of 500 million. The UK office manages sales in the major retailers through wholesale and e-commerce channels, sourcing the majority of its product from the manufacturing facility. They are currently looking to bring the finance function in-house, as the UK accounting is currently outsourced to a firm of accountants.
Description
- Carry out Balance Sheet Control Account Reconciliations.
- Deliver Month End close and prepare a monthly set of Management Accounts.
- Able to perform analysis of the UK business using financial tools. Confident in dealing with data sets in Excel. Experience of producing a presentation pack for business stakeholders.
- Will be the primary point of contact for the UK auditors. Will have experience of dealing with auditors and keeping records to a satisfactory standard in adherence with UK GAAP / IFRS.
- Responsible for maintaining standard costs and valuing stock. Reconciling stock back to our 3rd party warehouses will be a major part of asset integrity within the balance sheet.
- Prepare for the annual stocktake for the year end audit.
- Prepare cash flows and financial forecasts. Working capital is a critical business KPI and it will be important to understand the cash cycle and plan cash commitments accordingly.
- Complete VAT returns.
- Control staff expenses.
Profile
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA or QBE
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of SAP will be advantageous but more important is exposure to ERP systems in general and an expertise in managing financial ledgers effectively
