HR Advisor

Location - Ashford - Hybrid - 2 days in office

Salary- £33,488 to £37,715 Per Annum (pro rata)

Hours - Permanent Full-Time (part-time will also be considered at minimum 29.6 hours per week)

Our client, a well-known and established charitable organisation in Ashford is looking for an HR Advisor to join the team.

You do not need to be CIPD qualified for this role, our client values experience and will look at potentially offering study support to aid candidates to progress in their HR career.

Responsibilities for the role of HR Advisor

  • Provide first-line advice, guidance, and support to line managers across a range of employee relations issues such as disciplinary, grievance, and performance management
  • Maintain and report on casework volume and type ensuring that records are up to date and trends identified and raised with the HR Manager
  • Provide timely and accurate supporting documentation e.g. notes, letters, etc ensuring these are easily accessed to support casework
  • Identify and escalate to the relevant Director and HR & Training Manager any risks of potential litigation
  • With the assistance of the HR Assistant and HR Apprentice, oversee all facets of the recruitment process. This includes obtaining the necessary authorisations, writing job advertisements, assisting with interviews when needed, and drafting offer letters and employment contracts.
  • Support the facilitation of new starter onboarding seeking new ways to enhance new starters journeys
  • Organise and conduct training sessions, including employee inductions and opportunities for line development
  • Compile regular HR reports as needed, ensuring the data is clear and concise, and utilise this information to support decision-making

Personal Skills and Attributes for the role of HR Advisor

  • Relevant experience working as an HR Advisor or HR Administrator, with a significant focus on advising line managers
  • Proven experience in using HR Information Systems (HRIS) and ability to use them effectively
  • Full driving licence and use of a vehicle
  • Must be willing to undergo a Basic DBS check
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and explain employment law
  • Good practical knowledge of employment law and ACAS Codes of Practice
  • CIPD level 5 or equivalent is desirable but not essential
