A fantastic opportunity has become available for a technical assistant to join our award winning client in Edinburgh
This is a part time position, hours of work are: 10am - 2pm Monday to Friday.
Job description:
A technical specialist job is to inspect, audit and support the production and storage facilities to ensure compliance with the Food Safety Management System of the company and Health and Safety. The technical specialist must maintain the day-to-day technical operations, including ensuring that traceability is fully implemented, they review the company food safety and health and safety documents and oversee the implementation of these together with the Technical Manager, Production Managers and Factory Manager.
Tasks:
- Inspecting production facilities, root cause analysis or non-conformances and implementation of corrective actions.
- Training of new recruits at induction level.
- Overseeing day-to-day tasks of the Technical Department (temperature checks, gas tanks checks, metal plastic and glass weekly audits etc).
- Investigating product complaints and reporting of findings to the Technical Manager.
- Deputises the Technical Manager when required.
- Taking active part to external and internal audits and implementing the corrective action.
- Reviewing food safety management system with Technical Manager including PPM, Approved Supplier list and HACCP.
- Coordinating maintenance with Factory Manager as per PPM and condition based required maintenance.
