Credit Controller

A highly successful consumer goods business has partnered with NET Recruit, to search the market for a Credit Controller within the greater Poole area. A business made up of ambitious and driven professionals, the company has seen great levels of success within the last few years and is keen to expand its offerings and customer reach.

As a key member of the credit control and wider finance team, the position holder will be working in a proactive and energetic environment, whereupon they will be building strong relationships with clients, chasing outstanding debt using a variety of resources and dealing with a wide range of queries and potential disputes.

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the Sales Ledger accurately
  • Chasing both UK and international payments using various channels including email, in writing or the phone
  • Using expert negotiating skills to create payment plans and settlements with customers
  • Resolving invoice queries that are presented and settling disputes, ensuring that professionalism is maintained at all times
  • Raising credit notes for customer accounts, disputes, online retailers and e-comms returns
  • Setting up new accounts
  • Undertaking credit checks for new clients and evaluating credit reports and reviewing payment histories in order to agree on credit limits
  • Reconciling customer accounts and processing payments

What you will need to Apply:

The ideal candidate for this role will have previous credit control experience and also possess very strong communication skills in speaking with members of the public, potentially in difficult conversations, both over the phone and via email/letter. You will need to be organised and analytical and have a good solution-focused method to your approach in order to address issues as they arrive and ensure that the business keeps moving forwards financially. Applicants must excel in data entry, ensuring that accurate records and actions are maintained. Exposure to accounting software such as SAP is ideal, alongside experience of Amazon.

What you will get in Return:

For the successful candidate, a starting salary of up to £28,000 is available, as well as an above market compensatory package, including a competitive pension scheme and holiday allowance of over 30 days including bank holidays, and the opportunity for hybrid working within this role, alongside a company bonus and the option for early Friday finishes and attractive early finish summer hours.
