Private Client Solicitor
Location: Walsall, England
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience (DOE)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:15 pm
Job Description:
Our esteemed client, a well-established regional firm with multiple offices across England, is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join their team.
Responsibilities:
Whilst working alongside the current fee earner you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support to clients in the areas of probate, wills, trusts, and taxation. Your duties will include:
- Managing estate administration from start to finish, including preparing and submitting applications for Grant of Probate and Letters of Administration.
- Completing and submitting tax forms for Inheritance Tax, Income Tax, and Capital Gains Tax, and advising on tax mitigation strategies.
- Assisting with house clearances, collecting assets, and paying liabilities.
- Distributing estates and preparing income and distribution accounts.
- Providing advice on inheritance tax, income tax, and capital gains tax, as well as drafting and preparing wills.
- Applying for statutory wills when necessary.
- Advising on trusts, drafting trust documents, and providing guidance on tax mitigation.
- Assisting clients with Powers of Attorney/Lasting Powers of Attorney, including drafting documents, preparing applications, and acting as Certificate Providers.
- Representing clients in the Court of Protection by making applications for the appointment of a Deputy and complying with court orders.
- Producing accounts for the court and managing the necessary formalities.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of social care and CHC funding would be beneficial.
- Ability to assess client capacity and provide advice on inheritance tax, income tax, capital gains tax, and tax mitigation.
