Reed Engineering is excited to partner with a leading boat manufacturer in Wallingford. We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Quality Inspector to join the team, reporting directly to the Senior Quality Engineer. If you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for maintaining high standards, this role is perfect for you!

As a Quality Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all incoming components and GRP moulded parts meet our stringent quality standards. Your meticulous approach to examination and measurement will help maintain detailed records, ensuring traceability and quality control throughout the production process.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections for incoming materials as per the defined daily list.
  • Utilize various measurement tools such as callipers, micrometres, and electronic inspection equipment to measure product dimensions.
  • Monitor and maintain the quality inspection dashboard and the moulding inspection log.
  • Promptly communicate identified defects to internal and external stakeholders and collaborate on corrective actions for timely resolution.
  • Develop effective processes to optimize the inspection process and enhance product quality assurance.
  • Complete end of line inspections as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Quality Inspector in the manufacturing sector.
  • Certification in quality control is preferred.
  • Strong skills in dimensional analysis with the ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with quality testing machines and systems.
  • Excellent mathematical and technical skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies.
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and propose effective solutions when defects or quality issues are identified.
  • Strong communication skills to ensure clear and effective communication whilst documenting findings and reporting issues.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple inspections and maintain detailed records, with great prioritization skills to keep track of various quality control activities.
