A new and exciting position has come up for a company based in the Borehamwood area working as a Yard Assistant.
This will suit a young and hungry individual who wants to start a career and be part of the business going forward.
You will be assisting in the day to day running of a busy yard environment where you will be keeping all areas clean, loading and unloading deliveries, dealing with site incidents, stock despatch and involved in the receiving of goods.
As a yard assistant, the duties and responsibilities will include:
- Follow company/manufacturers policies and procedures
- Ensure the workplace is kept clean and tidy at all times.
- On taking instructions, if unsure always question and learn.
- To ensure the works are carried out in the most efficient and safe manner.
- Demonstrate positive attitude and behaviour towards safety and others.
- Report all near misses, hazards or observations
- Have an active involvement in creating and updating procedures as required.
- Notify the management of any matters that affect the progress of works (including breakdowns & damages, etc.).
- Ensure maintenance/inspection checks are carried out, reports are correctly completed on time and submitted.
- Make sure the quality and quantity of work produced is at required levels.
- Responsible for own quality control for work carried out.
- Be pro-active and think ahead by working closely with the Plant team
- Good understanding and knowledge of different processes and equipment.
- Be prepared to work overtime/flexible on breaks as required.
- On taking instructions, if unsure always question and learn.
- Ability to lead by example.

- Current clean Driving Licence.
- PAT test qualification (training can be given)

Please note this position will be office based and start time will be 7am-4pm.
