Higher Level Teaching Assistant HLTA

Atrium Healthcare are recruiting on behalf of the client for Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our client's passionate team. The school specialises in educating its pupils through bespoke individualised learning programmes, delivered using high-quality teaching and pastoral care.

As a HLTA you will support students with their social, emotional and mental health needs. You will be creative and have high expectations of pupils outcomes and have initiative and drive to lead on non cores subjects. This role involves planning and delivering learning activities, monitoring student progress, and contributing to the overall educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Support class teachers in delivering high-quality education.
Plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities for individuals or small groups.
Assist in the assessment and recording of student progress.
Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe learning environment.
Provide support for students with additional needs.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support student development.

Requirements:

It is desirable, but not essential for the successful candidate to have experience of working within SEMH or SEND provision.
HLTA qualification or equivalent.
Previous experience working in a school setting.
Strong understanding of child development and educational practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Passionate about making a positive impact on students' lives.
