TimePlan Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant (SEN) to join our team at a specialist secondary school in Luton. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to support students with severe learning difficulties and complex needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

The school caters to students with severe learning difficulties (SLD) and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). Many students have additional complex needs, including autism (ASD), epilepsy, physical or sensory impairments, and medical needs. Class sizes are small, with approximately 6-12 students per class.

**Role and Responsibilities:

  • Support Students: Provide assistance in the classroom, work with small groups, or offer one-on-one support to students with special educational needs.
  • Classroom Preparation: Assist in preparing and organising classroom materials and resources.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers and other staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Student Wellbeing: Contribute to the physical and emotional well-being of students, including those with additional medical needs.

**Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with young people or children. Experience working with SEN students is highly desirable. Whilst this is highly desirable, those who demonstrate a strong desire to gain experience in this area may be considered.
  • Skills: Strong communication and teamwork skills are crucial for this role.
  • DBS Check: Must have a DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Reliability: Ability to reliably commute to Luton.
