Berry Recruitment are NOW hiring for a committed and experienced Head of Legal Practice to work for a Law firm in Oxfordshire.

Role: Head of Legal Practice

Salary: Up to £100K per annum

Location: Remote - Must have Conveyancing and Asset Protection Trust / Lifetime Discretionary Trust experience.

Key Responsibilities of the Head of Legal Practice:

  • Implementing, monitoring, or reviewing compliance processes and systems, such as GDPR, AML, practice wide polices, such as vulnerable clients, and understanding practice and matter level risk assessments.
  • Supervising legal transactions/matters carried out by others to ensure that they are compliant with the appropriate regulator's arrangements. The CLC the regulatory arrangements.
  • Keeping a record of compliance breaches.
  • Preventing and dealing with conflicts of interests and improper influence.
  • Managing a practice's complaints-handling procedures.
  • Acting as a formal point of contact for compliance in the practice to the appropriate regulator; and
  • Supervising business continuity planning to ensure in the event of an adverse situation the continuity of legal service provision.
  • Lead and mentor a dedicated team of Paralegals and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Oversee a broad range of residential conveyancing matters, including sales and purchases of freehold and leasehold properties, re-mortgaging, and property finance.
  • Play a key role in the strategic growth of the department, contributing to business development and networking activities.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with clients, agents, and other stakeholders, ensuring the firm's reputation for excellence and personalised service is upheld.
  • Drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency, compliance, and client satisfaction.

About you:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to inspire and lead a team effectively.
  • A proven track record of handling complex residential property transactions with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships and delivering exceptional client service.
  • A strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and team development.
  • The candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of Asset Protection Trust / Lifetime Discretionary Trust experience.
