A leading multidisciplinary consultancy with a strong reputation for excellence in health and safety management is seeking an experienced Safety Director. This is a pivotal role that involves leading a team of CDMs, Principal Designers, and BSA Principal Designers across the UK.
The Safety Director Role
The successful Safety Director will be responsible for overseeing and guiding a talented team of professionals dedicated to ensuring compliance with CDM regulations and delivering high-quality safety and design management services. You will also will closely with various stakeholders, including clients and project teams.
Key responsibilities include
- Leading and mentoring a team of CDMs, Principal Designers, and BSA Principal Designers.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
- Developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conducting risk assessments and ensuring effective risk management.
- Overseeing the preparation and review of safety documentation, including F10 notifications, pre-construction information, and construction phase plans.
- Providing strategic advice and guidance to clients on health and safety matters.
- Promoting a positive health and safety culture within the organisation and across all projects.
The Successful Safety Director will have
- Extensive experience in a senior health and safety role within the construction or engineering industry.
- Strong background in CDM regulations and Principal Designer responsibilities.
- NEBOSH qualification or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., IOSH, APS).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues.
