Warehouse Assistant

We are looking for a Warehouse Assistant to provide an efficient stores operation, supporting our stakeholders. You will assist in the general maintenance of the warehouse in addition to liaising with suppliers directly and by telephone/fax/email etc. to ensure consistency of supply and quality.

LondonEnergy Ltd (LEL) is a leading Energy from Waste company based in north London, contracted to the North London Waste Authority (NLWA) to provide waste management services to the seven north London Boroughs.

Responsibilities:

  • To complete all daily tasks within your department as required.
  • To provide a comprehensive and efficient warehouse service to internal customers and suppliers.
  • To conduct purchasing activities if required.
  • To ensure the warehouse is in as safe and clean condition as is possible all the time.
  • Goods issuing when required for all company staff as well as outside contractors.
  • To receive goods from suppliers, checking the items match to the delivery note supplied and reporting and discrepancies to the appropriate person.
  • Receipting the purchase order once it has been checked using the hand-held device as well as on the company operating system Microsoft D365
  • To carry out all reasonable requests from your line managers.
  • To assist in a warehouse stock-take when required.
  • Unloading/loading of vehicles manually or with mechanical assistance as appropriate e.g., Forklift, Crane.

Requirements

  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Experience in stock control, and operation of stores receipt and issue methods.
  • Previous experience within a warehouse environment using both goods receipting and goods issuing methods is preferred but not essential.
  • Must be trustworthy and of an honest nature.
  • Driving license for forklift truck preferred but not essential.
  • Knowledge of plant spares is preferred but not essential.
  • Willing to accept any training given.
  • Prepared to work weekends as part of the warehouse Rota. And cover shifts when required by your manager.
  • Experience of stock control and rotation.
