Finance Manager

The Finance Manager will oversee day-to-day transactional operations and financial reporting, working closely with the Managing Director. This role also involves managing a small Finance Team consisting of a Purchase Ledger Clerk, Sales Ledger Clerk, Credit Controller, and a Credit Control and Sales Ledger Manager.

A growing building and property conversion company, based in Peterborough, is currently recruiting for a Finance Manager. The company specializes in property reinstatement and rebuild services in the insurance sector, along with conversions and improvements in both residential and commercial property markets.

Description

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to the Finance Team
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable
  • Perform bank reconciliations and month-end journals
  • Maintain fixed asset register
  • Conduct monthly nominal reconciliations on Sage
  • Prepare year-end accounts and financial reports including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow
  • Manage cashflow and working capital
  • Perform budget vs. actual analysis
  • Handle ad hoc financial support and queries
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-functional initiatives

Profile

  • Experience with Sage 50 (qualification ideal but not essential)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Competent in MS Office and financial software
